@Yelda #ThePatient After doing my household chores I stole the last valuable I would steal for chacha as I had planned to steal the main safe in Gurpreet’s bedroom, early morning tomorrow and disappear forever.  I sneaked out a gold ornament on my way to the psycho lady’s office. I reached under the bridge where Chacha and me met daily. He came a few minutes late in an auto rickshaw. I handed him the ornament. He examined it and said, “I want something more expensive soon or else you are coming home.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll steal something more expensive tomorrow.”

Suddenly out of nowhere police jeeps surrounded both of us. Gurpreet and the police inspector that introduced me to the psycho lady stepped out of one of the jeeps and the inspector arrested chacha.

You are now reading the ninth chapter. Refer to Inflicted for a chapter-wise listing…

Chacha kept saying I ratted him out but I had no idea about this. Gurpreet must have informed the inspector about my thieving habit but how did they know that it was chacha who was behind this? I told the psycho lady about this maybe she told them. I need to go to her office now. Obviously I can’t help chacha now. I’m sure the inspector won’t hurt him if he gives up all the information he has. I told the inspector to have mercy on him.

They dropped me at her office and when I went in she acted like she had no idea what just happened. She told me to sit in the chair as she usually does. I told her what just happened and how I suspected that it was her who did all this. She could not believe that I accused her of this. “There is a legal document that we have to adhere to. It is known as doctor patient confidentiality. I could go to jail for doing what you just accused me of.” she said.

I was sure now that there was no one I could trust but myself. Even if she had this doctor patient confidentiality thing, I knew in my heart that she ratted out chacha. I still needed everyone to believe that everything is normal so I played along.

We started our hypnotic therapy session…

@Melinda Monroe #ThePsychiatrist Her mind is at a very delicate stage and this arrest might cause more harm than good but I think it might be the last string needed to cure her. Yelda has no family left and Anishi just found hers. If I could talk about this with both of them simultaneously, it might just merge both the personalities in one. For this I would have to take her back to the night Yelda was created.

Before I do that I need Anishi to remember everything in her past. I took her back to the days she was born. Slowly and steadily I made her remember all the important moments she had as a child up until she met Yelda for the first time i.e. the time when Yelda actually acknowledged Anishi’s presence. This was around the time she started begging for Chacha.

At that point I called out both their names. They started talking to each other. I just instructed them what was going on. Anishi started accepting that Yelda was not really her sister but a part of her that was created to protect her. Slowly Yelda started to understand that Anishi didn’t need her anymore and she could survive on her own. Finally Yelda encouraged Anishi to forgive her family for letting her down and not looking for her. After that Yelda went quiet. I brought Anishi out of the hypnotic state and she said, “I wanna see my family.”
