They split up to find Dazz. Luthor ,Natalie, Rachel and Courtney went straight. Nick, Natasha and Sam went left. Miss Tanya, Gary and Rajesh went right. They were going to use mockingbirds for signal. They were going to signal the birds and the birds would transfer the signal.

After  around 3 hours of continuous searching Miss Tanya found Dazz unconscious near some trees. The tree and Dazz’s hand had a claw mark each. Gary gave the signal while Tanya shook Dazz to wake him up. When everyone arrived Dazz gained consciousness. He looked terrified. Rachel came running to him and kissed him and hugged him.

He said, “We gotta get out of here right away.”

“Why? What happened?” asked everyone. He didn’t speak for a while then Rachel asked, “What happened my love?”

The Attack

He said, “I saw a weird creature. It was about 12 feet tall, had face of a wolf and could stand on two’s and all four’s. It ran like hell and had hair all over the body. He  chased me and did this (He showed them the claw mark). Fortunately I escaped and fainted around here as I suffered from concussions while I was running. Please we have to get out of here before that beast comes.”

Luthor said, “But the bridge is broken and the airport is on the other side.”

“This is an island right?” said Dazz, ” We should find the shore and then maybe we find some ship going. We have a flare gun with one shot. We can use it to get some help.”

“Good idea. Can you walk?” said Miss Tanya.

“Yes, let’s go.” Dazz said…

Rachel shouted, “We have to find Dazz!! He could be bitten by an animal or something.”

Tanya said, “We all go through this bridge one by one as it is very weak and likely to break.  Ladies first.”

One by one all the girls reached the other side. Some scared boys also went before Natalie and Courtney who were left with Luthor and Tanya. Luthor made Tanya go next. As soon as she got cleared Courtney followed. Then Natalie started moving. Courtney shouted, “There are some weak planks. Be careful on which plank you step on.”

As soon as Courtney said this, Natalie got conscious and scared. Her feet started shaking. Luthor could see that the bridge was not  able to support the shaking. Natalie’s left leg got stuck in a plank which made her more hysterical. Luthor shouted, “Calm down! I’m coming for you. Just stop moving.”

Rescue

Fortunately Natalie decided to obey Luthor and stopped moving. Luthor carefully stepped onto the bridge. He knew he did not have much time but he had to move slowly. He slowly moved towards Natalie. When he reached Natalie, he said, “I’m gonna pull you out. Just don’t move.”

Gently, he tried to pull her left leg out but it was stuck firmly. He said, “This will pain a little.” He  turned her leg a little and like a bottle cork her leg came out. He said, “Now slowly move towards them I’ll stand here till then.” She started moving. The side from which they came was coming apart due to the weight.

The left attachment was already off. Luthor had to run now. He tried but the right attachment fell off and the bridge went down. Natalie cried, “No!!!! He died because of me. He could have left me to die. I’m of no use.”

They saw a pair of hands coming up from the hill side. It was Luthor and he was alive and kicking. He had a firm grip to the bridge and climbed up when the bridge settled. When he reached topside, Natalie ran towards him and hugged him. Everyone could see the happiness and satisfaction in Luthor’s eyes.

They still had to find Dazz so they split up…

Natasha’s loud scream woke up everyone. The other girls screamed too when they saw what made Natasha scream. The pilot and the hangar were on fire. Tanya ordered all the students to run towards the forest and stick together. Then she tried to save the pilot but she knew she was too late. The pilot was their last hope of making communication back home which was also gone now.

Now they have to sit it out till their trip ends and the university comes to know that something is wrong. She caught up with the terrified students. She settled them down and said, “So we have to stick together and support each other. We’ve lost our pilot and our last hope of communication. We’ll have to stay on this god forsaken island till the university figures out we are missing.”

“How long can that be, ma’am?” said Dick.

“I don’t know, on the day of our scheduled return. That is  next week.”

“We had to stay for four days what difference do three more days make.”

“But what caused the fire?” asked Luthor, “Natasha do share with us.”

The more than ever terrified Natasha said, “I woke up to relieve my bowels when I saw a man setting everything on fire. I called out to him. He had a lab coat on. He kept on burning everything. I ran towards him. He threw the matchstick in front of me and the ground in front of me caught fire and I screamed.”

“You said he wore a lab coat?” said Tanya.

“Yes ma’am I’m damn sure he did. He had short hair and he wore glasses too.”

“That description matches Dr. Dakash but why would Dr. Dakash burn the hangar?” said Tanya.

“Maybe he doesn’t want us to leave?” said Nick.

“Okay, but why?” Natalie said.

“I guess we’ll have to find out. Luthor please nail the tent you brought from the plane, Gary and Dick, go and find something we can burn. Others stay here at the camp. No roaming around. I want no more deaths here.” said Tanya.

“Got it” every one said in unison. When the tent was ready and the woods were brought it was still night but everyone was too terrified to sleep. They decided to play Truth ‘N’ Dare. While Tanya was figuring out what to do with Luthor, the others played Truth ‘N’ Dare…

They passed the plane crash site on the way to the airport. A horrendous news was revealed to them when they reached the airport. There was no soul alive on the island. The airport was unused from ages. Were they on the wrong island? The pilot was sure this was the island. The last time Tanya talked to the scientist, Dr. Dakash Rowley, everything was alright and functioning. What could have happened in one day?

Suddenly they heard a woman scream behind the airport. They ran with all their might to see what happened. An african american woman with curly hair, most probably in her early thirties, was the source of the scream. She was screaming as she saw a dead man. The students screamed in unison. Tanya silenced them and said, “Ms. Janet Winchester, where is Dr. Dakash? What happened here?”

There was terror in her eyes. She ran away in the woods without saying anything. That scared all the girl students there. Boys were scared too but they were acting tough. Tanya ordered the pilot to search for a radio communication on the airport and the students to wait in the hangar.

By the looks of the dead man it was definitely the work of an animal, but there were human footsteps around it. She was confused. She checked the vital signs of the man just to make sure he was dead. His heart was not beating but the weird thing was she was feeling a pulse. That made it more creepy. She thought it was better to burn the body.

As she was superstitious and believed in folklore, she was also scared that this man would turn into some monster or something as he was bitten. So she brought some petrol and gave him a proper cremation. Then she went and bumped into the pilot on the way back to the hangar. The pilot gave her bad news. He was not able to find a radio comm but he could make one in 4 days.

The Contingency Plan

Tanya decided, “Okay guys, Luthor and Natalie, both of you will go to the plane crash site and bring any useful thing both of you can find there. Unfortunately there is no radio comm around here so the pilot is going to make one. It’ll take him four days so we’re stuck on this island till then. Hurry up. Off you go.”

Both of them took off. Luthor was cherishing every moment of this silent walk with her beloved. He purposely fell on her 3 times just so he could touch her. When they reached the crash site, in the cockpit they found a flare, few tents, some knifes, and many other useful wilderness survival things. Natalie found her bag which had her books and other important make up stuff. She was very happy to see the other bags burnt up due to the crash and not hers. When they had all they could find they went back to the hangar. They lit up a fire there and retired for the night.

Somewhere near the hangar Dr. Dakash with his new vision and hunger was planning…

Everyone was excited and all set for the great adventure. There were three different groups divided in the trip. The nerds, the teens just going for grade and the junkies. There were five nerds with Rajesh Chaturvedi, a permanent resident of India. The others were Nick Banks and his sister Natasha Banks, Sam Gibbs and Gary Boston.

The high class teens were three girls and two boys. Rachel and Courtney Baxter were twin sisters. Dazz Randolph was Rachel’s boyfriend and always got her confused with Courtney which bothered Rachel. Luthor Fang the rich guy who ached for Natalie Marley, the last girl, but she was too full of attitude and teased him since they met.

The junkies were the reserve kind of people. The kept to themselves. Tom, Dick and Harry were the three junkies. They enjoyed amongst themselves and no one understood them so no one disturbed them either. All were enjoying in their respective seats when they heard a loud thud.

The Crash

“What was that?” asked Natalie.

Tanya replied, “Lemme go and check with the pilot.”

She went into the cockpit and saw a red light in there. The pilot said, “Our left propeller malfunctioned. WE ARE GONNA CRASH!!! The island is nearby. Please tell your students to get ready with their respective parachutes below their seats. They will have to jump and aim for the island as soon as I open the doors.”

Tanya rushed out and announced, “Everybody we’ll have to jump out with our parachutes and aim for the island. Our propeller has failed so we’ll have to jump. No choice. Parachutes are below your seats, aim for the island, jump as soon as the gates open. Good luck to you all.”

She reached for her chute and wore it, so did others. They formed a queue near the doors. As the pilot opened the doors, the teens started jumping one by one. Finally Tanya and the pilot jumped and the jet crashed in the endless waters.

All of them dispatched their chutes when the time came. Soon the students started landing. Some landed in the waters near the island. Some landed on the beach. Luthor purposely landed on Natalie and she tried to push him off. He took his time in getting himself off her. When all were on the island, Tanya asked the pilot to lead them to their original landing site. They regrouped and the pilot lead them into the denser part of the island.

This was just the beginning. There were a lot of things waiting for them at the camp. The scientist they were supposed to meet wasn’t who he said he was.
