@Yelda #ThePatient My job began in the morning and ended a few hours before my begging shift ended. So after the job I would go to my begging spot as my chachaji wanted me to. I have been saving a lot of money from begging. Although I give chachaji most of it but I keep some of it for me and I would do the same with my maid job as well. I was really alacritous for this job so I completed my daily home chores and went towards the wacky lady’s home.

When I reached there, the home was decorated as if there was some celebration. I rang the bell and the door was opened by the wacky lady. She looked delighted to see me. She had a plate with prayer ornaments. I was totally befuddled. She started performing an aarti on me. I tried to stop her as she was making me uncomfortable. She explained that anyone who enters into their house for the first time has to go through this. It calmed me down a little.

You are now reading the third chapter. Refer to Inflicted for a chapter-wise listing…

After that weird aarti session I was introduced to all the family members. The wacky lady was Gurpreet and the formally dressed gentleman was Gurvinder. They had a kid named Amandeep who was about four years younger than me. I could have sworn that I had seen him somewhere before.

I tried to remember but I couldn’t. The place looked familiar too. I had never been here before but I remembered this place as if it was my home. When the introductions were over, I was told to look around the house and get familiar with it.

As I walked around I had muses of the place. They were blurry but they were there. Could it be that the wacky woman was right and I was her daughter Anishi? I could feel the paucity in that thought. It was baseless. I might have seen this house in some movie or something.

After looking around I was told to eat something. I was fed with lot of delicious stuff and it became weird again. I was hired as a maid and I was not given anything to do. My treatment was like I was a long lost queen or something. After the meal I maintained that if I wasn’t given anything to do I would quit. So Gurpreet unwillingly gave me a surfeit of tasks. Until now I felt out of place. Finally some work to do.

After completing my work I was asked by Gurpreet to go and meet the psycho lady. When I asked why, she said, “It is part of the job you have taken. Just do what you are asked of. Come back to collect your daily wage.”

She was serious so I obeyed and went to the psycho lady’s office. When I reached there, the receptionist let me into the office area. I asked the psycho lady, “Why am I here?”

She said, “Sit down Yelda, we have much to talk about.”
