Jeff said, “Okay Dalia, I can’t believe that I am going to say this but lets investigate whether Michael is dead or alive.”

Dalia could not control her excitement. She was jumping and screaming. The whole office started staring at her. Jeff said, “Control Dalia!! I think we should go and start the investigation.”

“But from where?” she said. “We don’t have any leads!”

“We do have a lead,” he replied, “The abandoned warehouse! It has to be registered to someone. Now all  we have to do is find the registered owner of that warehouse.”

“Search the database.” she said.

After the search, they found out that the warehouse was owned by one of the big drug lords of LA. He was untouchable. Whenever LAPD went after him, he slipped from them with ease as they had no solid proof. This time they may catch him.

Dalia’s eye caught something very interesting. The flat right in front of Conrad Murray’s flat in the building right in front of their building was also the drug lord’s possession. “We got him.” she said, pointing towards the apartments he owned.

The GDK

Jesús Méndez Vargas a.k.a “El Chango” (English: “The Monkey”), was one of the most notorious drug lords of the country. He kept a clean sheet and nobody had ever found solid proof that led to him being captured. When Dalia and Jeff entered his mansion, he welcomed them with open hands because he knew they could not possibly have any proof. He was shocked when they showed him the warrant of his arrest and handcuffed him. His men pointed their gun on them. Dalia said in her walkie talkie, “Move in!” and more than 200 S.W.A.T. men came in aiming at his men. “We don’t want it to get any messier. Kindly come quietly so there is no blood shed.” she said. The Monkey agreed. He said something in spanish that no one except his men understood. They laughed and put their guns down.

The Monkey was disgracefully dragged out of his mansion, into their car and driven to the LA Jail. The Monkey was questioned by Dalia. She asked him whether he killed Conrad and why did he kidnap her and then let her go. The Monkey did not reply till his lawyer was present. His lawyer, one of the biggest criminal attorney’s of the state Tom Lowersky, was a simple straightforward cunning man with fox eyes who observed everything. He had never lost a case in his 20 years of law. He was definitely going to lose this one because the state had a wild card.

Dalia and Jeff had caught the shooter responsible for Conrad’s death. As the shooter was known by his alias by everyone who hired them, they kept his real name in the eye witness section of the report that has to be given to the defense lawyer. The Monkey and Tom, after going through all the evidence wanted to talk to the shooter. After long convincing, the judge agreed to let the witness be protected and displayed later on in the trial. As this information was kept from him Tom got a little threatened by the witness. He was still very good at thinking at his feet and he knew he could discredit the eye witness later on while the trial continued. His case was ready and so was the case of the District Attorney.

The GDK

The case that could bring the DA the glory of capturing The Monkey was about to begin. He knew with the witness and solid evidence, this time he would nail The Monkey. The case began with the opening statements of the defense and the opposition. Slowly the evidence started flowing in. Tom countered every evidence the state had. The result was still 50/50 in the eyes of the jury. Then the state called in their wild card. The shooter walked in. Seeing him The Monkey skipped a beat.

He told the jury and the judge how The Monkey had paid him to kill Conrad because he owed him a lot of money. Tom asked for proof of contact. The state had a recording of The Monkey paying the shooter money to kill Conrad. This put the result as 100/0 in favor of the state. Finally the notorious monkey was sentenced to life in prison. Later on while searching his mansion, LAPD found drugs and consignments, shipment details. He was smuggling drugs and that too was a proof to finish him.

Now he had no way of leaving the prison. While he was being transferred from the court room to the prison, he told Dalia, maybe I did everything you said but I didn’t kidnap you. He tried to break free while he was being transferred that is why he was killed while he attempted his escape at least that was the official story.

“If The Monkey killed and captured you then Michael being alive is actually a hoax and you should put your energy somewhere else now.” said Jeff.

Dalia said, “But he said he did not kidnap me.”

“He was lying Dal. Your madness will consume you one day. Michael is dead and you need to get over him!”

“But…”

“No buts now… I have had it with your madness. I am not going to help you in your crusade. If you wanna continue this madness you can. I won’t be helping you. ”

The head of LAPD suspended her for a week for being too pushy for this concept but she was hellbent on finding Michael. She was prepared to break all rules.

The idea!

She was so alone that night that she cried herself to sleep. The world had forgotten about Michael and she was the only one who cared. Everyone was busy with their lives. Everyone including the Jackson family. One thing was very peculiar about the Jackson family. Everyone of that family grieved Michael’s death except Janet. Maybe she knew something. “I should interrogate her, discreetly ofcourse.” she thought. That thought made her smile a little and her spirits were uplifted a little bit but she was still all alone. Jeff, the love of her life did not believe her. That hurt the most. She was going to prove everyone wrong. She’s going to start her interrogation from tomorrow.
