Randy and I went to get the body late at night when all the servants were asleep. Others were still awake anxiously waiting for us to return.

When we reached the tree a weird whistling sound echoed through the woods and a strong wind blew past us. Both of us were a little terrified to dig up the body as we had a feeling that something would go wrong but we had to so we started digging. To our horror the body wasn’t there.

We kept digging but the body wasn’t there. Instead of the body we found a centuries old wooden piece. We took it out. It had some sort of carving on it. It was some ancient language.

Our friend Denise was interested in these historical type things. She was even taking a course for all ancient dead languages. So we thought of taking it back to her.

On the way back Randy freaked out and screamed. I asked, “What the hell? It’s Amazon. Do you know how many different types of carnivores are here? They all hunt at night so keep it low.”

“But… but… but…” scared to his wits he continued, “I just saw Melissa!!!”

“What? Where?”

“Right there!” pointing towards a pitch black part of the woods where there was no moonlight.

I should have said let’s get back to the group but I didn’t. Instead I said, “Let’s go check it out. Come on.”

So Randy and I walked towards the pitch black part of the forest. After walking for like 10 minutes we saw an old church sort of building. It had a broken cross on the top. Randy said, “Cool! An old church! This place could be haunted. That would make a really good story!”

Both of us walked into the church. It was a weird church, having mirrors all around. It was like there were mirrors instead of walls and the chairs were arranged in a circle facing the center where there was one big mirror.

All of a sudden a light focused on the mirror in the center and there we saw Melissa. She had crimson red eyes with pale lips and she smiled and said, “Come to me!”

As bold and young and mad we were, we still wanted to live a long life so we ran for our lives.

We reached the cottage, terrified of what we saw. We couldn’t talk. All the others could see horror in our eyes. Nadia came to me and hugged me and asked, “What happened sweetie? Are you okay? Where is the body?”

Sophie offered us some water. After drinking the water, we took a deep breath and I told them what happened. Randy handed Denise the parchment and she took it into her room.

We could tell that she had seen the parchment before in some picture. We all anxiously waited as she searched her backpack for her books.

It was taking too long! Nadia went in to see what happened as the others were really terrified.

Nadia screamed and I knew Denise found the book and something happened to her.
