Paradox – The first level

I have to do this all over again. I thought it was going to be as simple as before but somewhere inside me I knew that the boss may have changed the rules and game play. When the boss had flipped his fingers I was standing in front of the empire state building.

I kept on walking as I did last time. There was an unattended phone booth. It was ringing. It was possible that it was for me. I went there and picked it up. As soon as I did that a countdown began. I had 10 seconds to do something but what?

The 10 seconds flew off in no time and the screen of the phone booth read, ‘You made the wrong choice kiddo.’ Suddenly my eye caught a glimpse of a fire starting near the booth and the booth was vibrating. Before I could move my legs, the phone booth blew off into pieces with me in it. I still remember the excruciating pain.

Now I was on level 1. The game had begun. If I made the right choice in the beginning I would’ve won the game before it even began. I could see vague shapes carrying me and a light coming and going again and again. Where was I?

Paradox – It begins

I woke up in a park. No one was around me and I had no recollection of how I got here. Who left me here? This is unbelievable. The last thing I know is walking into the toilet. I have my night suit on me. Thank god I have my watch on. The time is 2200 hours and what the hell? I’m sure it was 10th Jan the last I checked.

But now I could see 13th Jan what happened in the last three days? I have to find out where I am. Finally I could see a vague shape. It was coming right towards me. It was her, the girl responsible for all this. She came near me and sat beside me on the bench where I woke up. I asked, “Where am I?”

“You are safe.”

“Answer my question.”

“No time for that sweetheart. Come with me if you want to live.”

I knew she was not kidding so I followed her. She took me to a big building in front of the park. The building looked familiar. It was my late father’s late company but I also knew it was not real. Every time I met her I saw all kinds of places but in reality I did not go anywhere.

The Twist

She took me into my father’s office. It was just as I had remembered except that there was someone else sitting in my father’s place. His face was not visible. It was dark. The girl vanished into thin air. “You made the wrong choice kiddo. You need to get back in now.”

I knew he was not kidding. I was shocked and angry. This was actually happening and I hated that place. I was like noooooo not that thing again. But the boss did not listen and with a flick of his fingers I was back in the PARADOX

Paradox- The Choice

For those who don’t know who I am, I am a seventeen year old teenager who is about 5 feet 11 inches tall and has a crooked hairstyle. No one likes me the way I am. I have to pretend to be someone else in front of everyone individually. To a person walking by I am an idiot teen lost in his own world, to my darling mother I’m her cutie pie still, my sister takes me as a toy, my teachers call me Einstein but in reality I’m just an ordinary teenager living his life.

Correction… I was an ordinary teenager until the choice. Now some of you might have the question…. What choice? You’ll come to know further. And by the way my name is Eden Hex.

So as I was saying I was just an ordinary teenager but then I had to make the choice. Now I had a big house on the beach with hundreds of girls and I partied all night. I was the happiest person in the whole world until the unthinkable happened… I had to make the choice again and I got greedy this time and made the wrong choice and here I am all messed up on the 127th floor of Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world making the choice of my life again…
